A nonprofit group of fire and rescue service professionals, physicians, burn nurses, attorneys, educators, administrators, and others having interest in burn problems and dedicated to addressing this issue through education, prevention and treatment.

PTBF History

The purpose of this organization is to promote and develop a state-wide burn care and rehabilitation program, to promote and develop burn care programs located geographically to meet the needs of the State of Maine, and to cooperate with the fire services of Maine in public education in fire and burn prevention.

Sponsors of this organization include consumers and providers of health care in Maine, insurance carriers, fire and rescue service organizations, and other public,private and voluntary organizations.

The Foundation has a volunteer Board of Trustees responsible for the development of a comprehensive burn care program for the State of Maine and the implementation of public education in fire and burn prevention.

The Board meets three times a year in January, May and September. All Trustees are appointed to various sub-committees that meet as needed.
